Cheetah’s Vibrant 'Get Loose' Is The Debut Single Of Nia Archives New Record Label Up Ya Archives Records

The relentless Nia Archives has announced her new record label Up Ya Archives to celebrate new generation junglism and create a home for its appreciation around the globe. The label looks to expose the hidden gems of dance music and provide a platform to showcase their artist's multifaceted talents.

To mark this historic event, the label's debut release, 'Get Loose', from Bristol-based prodigy Cheetah has dropped. 'Get Loose' is a perfectly amalgamated track which has a carnivalistic feel to it with rhythmic whistles and colourful percussion.

With ponderous basslines injected into it, the piece emits a feeling of controlled chaos, where you want to get up and ferociously dance for hours. It's energetic and full of spirit, a perfect introduction to what Up Ya Archives is about; postulating happiness and good vibes, which is broadcast to the masses.

The track includes vocals from both Cheetah and Nia, giving it a collaborative feel and taking the next step, together, into a new and exciting future for new gen jungle.

Speaking on the track Cheetah said: It’s about that feeling of being completely one on one with the music, head buried into the rig and feeling the bass rattle your ribs.”

Alongside the track, a music video has been released depicting ecstatic ravers, both old and young, connecting through their love of jungle music in a parlour of joy. It’s about being carefree and having fun.

Cheetah himself has been on Nia’s radar for a while now after first discovering him on Bandcamp in 2022. She then included  'Spin Sugar' from his 2022 EP Sike! in her debut BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. From there, the relationship blossomed into a creative and collaborative party, spouting ideas around free-functioning aesthetics.

His Freaks EP was released in early 2024 and with “Get Loose”, he is promising more and more in his career steps. His distinctive, high energy tracks are cheeky, loud, sexy and fast all at once and has now recently began touring all around Europe.

Nia will also launch the UP YA ARCHIVES X NTS Residency from 5-6pm every month. Episode 1 will find her and Cheetah in the studio, introducing listeners to the radio, the community around it, what releases are on the horizon as well as both performing b2b.

Up Ya Archives began in 2021 and has grown into a cultural movement. Starting small and expanding, Nia has centred it around making marginalised background ravers feel safe and open in a welcoming environment. Being a northerner as well, a focus has always been ensuring the youth from Northern areas are not deprived of their access to music and culture.

With 8-12 releases a year scheduled, you can expect to hear a lot more from Up Ya Archives. “Get Loose” is just the beginning.
