South London’s Blanco returns with the double release ‘Let Me Go / Protagntist’ as a follow-up to his project last year the 12-track mixtape Rebourne.

First teased on social media to gauge the reaction of his fans on the atmospheric ‘Let Me Go’, sampled soulful vocals are heard in the background of the production, and melodic xylophone keys are played to further create an intimate mood. Blanco introspective, turns an inward gaze on his life and its opposing forces.

Speaking on “Let Me Go”, Blanco states, "'Let Me Go' is about letting go of past experiences to move forward with the life you’re now living, for example, that could be a relationship, friendship or certain lifestyle.”

‘Protagonist’ longer in length, is crafted from emotive sampled vocals and reworks a traditional drill beat. Blanco goes back to basics on the track with his distinct style as he quickens the tempo and attempts to free himself from people’s expectations.

The Kennington native sharing an insight into ‘Protagonist’ says “This track is about being a hero and a villain (Antagonist & The Protagonist). No matter what you do you’ll always be a hero and a villain in someone’s story, and every villain is a hero in their own mind and vice versa.”
