Berlin’s production trio KITSCHKRIEG step back into the spotlight with ‘Mad About You', collaborating with East London’s own Dré Six.

Official art work for mad about you

Released via SoulForce Records, the track mixes R&B with a clean electronic tone, following the trio's tradition of collaborations that belong to no specific classification, call it beyond classification. Having already worked with UK talents like Stefflon Don, Nemzzz, and SwitchOTR, as well as US artists including Future and Mariah the Scientist, KitschKrieg are the kind to rip up the textbook and begin writing their own rules on the blank pages - in fact pass me the rubber, there are no rules.

KitschKrieg— comprised of Fizzle, Fiji Kris, and awhodat—all known for their minimalist, beautiful approach to music and visuals. The trio’s distinct, clean sound takes cues from dancehall, dub, and modern hip-hop, creating a combination that distinguishes them in the global music market.

Tied into the music, they’ve created a streetwear brand and a visual style that’s defined by black-and-white imagery and bold contrasts. With over a billion streams to their name, KitschKrieg’s are reaching people on a worldwide scale.

Their debut album, KitschKrieg, was released in 2020 and included two No.1 platinum singles, Standard and Unterwegs. The trio has built on this success with their recent projects, including German Engineering 1, which has featured collaborations with UK artists like SL, Skillibeng, and Midas the Jagaban, as well as US acts like Dusty Locane and Anti Da Menace. This international appeal strengthens their reputation as tastemakers in the underground music scene.

The collaboration with Dré Six on Mad About You marks an exciting shift for both artists. Dré adds his own twist to KitschKrieg’s production, delivering stories in an honest and direct flow. His pen cuts deep, hitting that moment when you only realise the weight of a relationship after it's slipped through your fingers.

Every guy has that one person they’ve been ‘mad about’ or still are,” Dré reflects.  "It’s about realising the value of something or someone once it’s gone."

This collaboration is part of a broader shift in Dré’s sound while his previous work, including his debut EP Trap Blues, drew from UK rap, drill, and trap. This release and the rest of the project you’ll find leans toward a more energetic, EDM-inspired tone quality. "I feel more at home with my sound but I enjoy this too, demonstrating I can shape shift into different genres" Dré shares. "It’s still me—vulnerable, reminiscent, and relatable"—but it’s leaning into KitschKrieg’s production style.

Dré’s journey as an artist has been one of growth, and his recent co-sign from Skepta is a significant milestone. "I’ve always listened to Skepta since I was young," he says. "It’s a mad acknowledgment that I’m going in the right direction, which pushes me to keep going and double down on what I’m doing."

"I just want people to relate and feel something from this record," he says. "I can do different sounds and genres, but at the end of the day, I’m still me."

The collaboration between KitschKrieg and Dré Six doesn’t stop at one song; they’re working together on an entire project. Dré hints that the upcoming work will continue to explore this EDM style and the distinctive, recognisable black and white theme will continue throughout the project too "the theme will carry through the entire project," he explains, noting that it wasn’t planned but rather came naturally as both KitschKrieg and Dré share a preference for black-and-white visuals. "It just married nicely together."

While this project marks a momentary departure from his usual sound, Dré is excited about the new direction.

"After this, I’m coming back to my typical sound," he says, "but for now, I’m fully embracing this uplifting, EDM-style music."
