Bakar Lights Fire with New Single 'React' [Review]

The multi-genre artist adored by fans and the likes of Skepta and the late Virgil Abloh has yet again proven his ability to create captivating sounds filled with raw emotion.

After an impressive self-discovery album release last summer, Bakar has entertained and locked in his fans for this most recent track. The singer covers an extensive range of genres from RnB, hip hop, indie, pop, rock..the list goes on. Bakar’s gripping vocals can only be described as unforgettable and leave you wanting more.

Starting strong with euphoric synths that form the basis of the honest lyrics Bakar places on the catchy beat. One thing the artist never fails to do is bring bold statements into his metaphors, “You just wish that I’d react more, that’s why we’re at war”. Heavy percussion and hi-hat beats blend with piano motifs to form a memorable chorus for Bakar to lay down his frustrations. The track repeats the consistent energetic tempo for the second verse and chorus that persists Bakar’s forceful vexations.

Under three minutes was never going to be long enough for this infectious tune. Bakar knows how to capture the attention of his fans and with the current events, it feels as though he has catered to all of us through the belting of his annoyances.

On social media the star has teased possible collaborations with Summer Walker and Justin Bieber in shots taken in Los Angeles where we can only hope Bakar is working on new music. He is a musician to watch for special collaborations in the future and new music. Until then, we will be playing React on repeat.
