South London’s rising R&B singer BALEY embraces feelings of love on his latest single ‘SUMMER’, a light-toned and delightful expression that allows him to craft poetic imagery of long summer days spent in the rays of the sun with your love interest
Exploring it through his own distinct lo-fi R&B and Ne0-Soul sound, BALEY sings around a Lophiile production that is made up of laidback rhythmic production that plays in the pocket.
BALEY croons languidly, singing “you're my summer/ you da reason this cold world is warmer/ it don’t matter if your colder you’ll always be making time with me.”
The track was written during a trip to LA back in 2019, inspired by his environment he decided to tap into the warmth of the West Coast
Speaking about the record, the South Londoner shares “I was out there wishing I could have that 'Summer feeling' all year round - so I put it in a song".
The accompanying visuals, directed by Charlie Rees was shot in the middle of the desert in LA. On the video, BAELY adds: “We set out to create a fun, vibrant and playful performance based visual with this one to compliment the ‘summery’ essence of the track - and being able to have the beautiful landscapes of the California desert as the backdrop was the icing on the cake, allowing us to keep it simple but effective.”
