Arz Shares New Single 'Hostage'

Arz reflecting on a romantic experience returns with his latest single, ‘Hostage’  as the North-East Londoner works for his love interest's affection.

Rapping over a slightly higher tempo, produced by Oakland, Arz feels at home as he tries out a newer sound. More upbeat and energetic the Grime-influenced beat is kept light-hearted by the 90s R&B sample and the coloured lyrism as he reminisces about the first time he and his love interest met pulling us into a short impressionist vision.

Speaking on the making of the track Arz commented, “Hostage is probably one of my favs on the tape just for the fact it’s so new. I feel like I’ve never dropped anything on a heavily grime-influenced beat. The beat is ridiculous. My guy Oakland is prolific in making these jumpy UK bangers.

This track will undoubtedly have you skanking and holding back tears at the same time LOL. I shot this video on my New York trip in January way in advance just because we really knew it would be a supporter's favourite. I love dipping in and out of vocal samples that move the heart & this one is extremely special.”

The Accompanying music video was shot during his time in New York City, and centres around him and live interests enjoying the sights that the American city has to offer.

Arz has also announced a forthcoming mixtape but has not yet revealed a date or name however, if he leans further into smooth rap verse and 90s sample era, it will be a very good summer.
