anaiis Explores Identity and Transformation with New Mini-Album anaiis & Grupo Cosmo

French-Senegalese artist anaiis is set to release her highly anticipated mini-album, anaiis & Grupo Cosmo, on November 14th, introducing a new chapter in her artistic journey. The album's lead single, Toda Cor, featuring Brazilian singer Luedji Luna, sets the tone for this cross-cultural collaboration. The seven-track project intricately intertwines diverse musical influences and explores profound themes, including Black identity, motherhood, birth, and the natural world.

anaiis describes the album as "a sonic emergence of the person I was becoming at this moment in my life," reflecting the deep personal growth and transformation she experienced while creating it. Collaborations with Brazilian artists like Sessa and Luedji Luna add to the record’s rich soundscape, blending Brazilian musical traditions with anaiis' distinct creative perspective to forge a unique, multi-layered experience.

For anaiis, anaiis & Grupo Cosmo was a transformative experience. She embraced an organic and human-centered approach to making music, capturing the essence of each moment. “We spent days on the beach, sharing meals and stories while creating together,” she reflects. “Every track was recorded live to tape—no computers around. By the end of the week, we had an album that captured the essence of that moment.”

This raw and immersive process, which focused on spontaneity and togetherness, brings a rare authenticity to the record. Adding to the intimate nature of the project, the creation of the album was documented on 16mm film, offering fans a visual representation of the personal and communal spirit that shaped the music.
