Flowingly seamlessly on the acoustic production, anaiis carefully constructs a surreal moment of deep comfort and safety in ‘be alright (solo)’ as her airy vocals take the care to reassure the world that the hard times won't last.
The acoustic arrangement in the production is simplistic, but its gentleness stirs emotion that is reinforced by the feeling that the track is a soothing balm that feels all wounds as anaiis submerges the world in expressions.
Her ability to emotionally connect with a wide audience and provide strength through her music is as awe-inspiring as it is private. It feels as if the French-Senegalese-born and London-based singer is sharing something deeply personal with us, and it is our duty to simply listen, take it in and let the emotion sink in and take root within us.
anaiis says: “It was one of the first songs I wrote for the project and it's symbolic for me to return to it as a post-album release. I just had to embrace the simplicity of the song and the essence of the message,”
Continuing the artist says, “ (It's) Just a set of comforting words during a time of chaos. Releasing this album independently has been such an empowering journey and to share this original version at this stage of the process really serves as a reminder for me that things always work themselves out.”
The new edition is accompanied by a music video directed by Jesse May Fisher that was shot in the English countryside to reflect the mood of the song.
The original version of the track is taken from her debut album This Is No Longer A Dream Which was released in September 2021.
