Amsterdam-Based Brand Wandler Unveils Dynamic SS22 Collection

Amsterdam-based label Wandler has revealed its vibrant Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The luxury brand, known for its sculptural bags and footwear and dynamic use of colours, has returned with pieces that promise to elevate any look.

Inspired by Palm Springs mid-century Modernism, the collection channels the feel of Slim Aarons’ photography. This is particularly seen through the collection’s vibrant colour blocks, sleek shapes and curved heels. The celebrated photographer, who for decades captured the glamorous lives of the rich and famous, is revered for celebrating women during Hollywood’s golden age in a refreshing way.

With all of their pieces handmade in Italy, Wandler’s SS22 bags encapsulate the architectural design that the brand is best known for. They are crafted into a number of unique shapes, from the Maggie Bag, an over-the-shoulder bag with a dramatic U-shape, to the Lin Bag – a fortune cookie-shaped handbag with wings that can be worn inwards or outwards for more space. As stylish as they are, each bag is made with utility and versatility in mind.

Shoe-wise, buyers are spoilt for choice as they are presented with a range of colourful mules, heeled sandals and strappy heels that effortlessly elongate the legs. The collection also consists of comfortable flats, from preppy loafers to practical sandals and slippers perfect for the poolside. Like the bags, their footwear comes in a range of colours reminiscent of Palm Springs, including bright greens, flamingo and baby pinks and desert dune beiges. The glossy finish of the bags and shoes completes the collection’s sleek, high-end feel.

Wandler’s SS22 collection will be available from February onwards and will be carried by several high-end retailers, including Net-a-Porter, Matches Fashion, Harvey Nichols and Browns.
