Afro Nation is one of the world's biggest music festivals and has continued to amplify sounds from the African Diaspora and beyond ever since its debut in 2019 with the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Buju Banton, Asake, Ms Banks and so many more previously gracing the infamous stage in Portugal. To celebrate another star-studded lineup and the continued success of Afro Nation, the festival has decided to commemorate the moment with a mini-documentary titled ‘Afro Nation: A movement’ featuring highlights from Afro Nation 2023, interviews with Eddie Kadi, The Compozers, Black Sherif, Musa Keys, DJ Skyla Tylaa, Afro Nation founders and more.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who plays a part, from our fans and community travelling from around the world, and our phenomenal artists gracing the stage, to the dedicated teams working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment for all. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Together we move.” - Afro Nation organisers
Additionally, the documentary has exclusive interviews, never-before-seen performances, behind the scenes footage that puts a spotlight on the ever-growing genre of Afrobeats and why it’s had an ever-lasting impact on music, fashion and culture, as sub-genres like Amapiano have also taken the world by storm. Shot in such a cinematic way this 17 minute documentary captures all of the best parts of the festival as the scenes show Portimao beach go from night to day, the energy and excitement from the fans is truly felt as support their favourite acts on stage.
"This is the greatest potential, Afro Nation is the greatest potential of the world right now". - Camidoh
