Adidas SPZL and C.P. Company has made a comeback in style, this time blessing the industry with a complete apparel, footwear, and accessories collection to honour the label’s 10th anniversary. Serving as a perfect blend between the two brands, the collection includes six unique Adidas SPZL silhouettes, told through the lens of C.P. Company.
To start off, the CP Wimberly SPZL is inspired by a rare perforated Canadian version of the adidas Universal from the 80s and is set to hit the streets in two material makeups. The first arrives in white and cream, with a leather upper 3-Stripe webbing with zig zag deco stitching, along with serrated eye stays and a perforated toe box. Whilst, the second iteration features an entirely suede base for the upper, serving as a modern twist to the original palette of the vintage Universal.
Up next is a seasonal staple: the hi-top outdoor boot, the adidas Nepal- inspired CP Helvellyn SPZL. Available in a versatile Sand and Grey, the shoe consists of suede overlays, mesh underlays, gun-metal D-rings, with a gusseted tongue and outdoor leather lining. Meanwhile, the CP SL 83 SPZL is an extension of the design language of the adidas SL 82, arriving in hues of olive green to the T-toe and upper shoe.
Last but not least is the iconic SPZL comeback. The popular CP Manchester SPZ silhouette has been reinterpreted and reworked for the anniversary, hitting the market with updated premium materials, added eyelets and zig zag stitching on the stripes. Simultaneously, the collaborative CP Italia SPZL returns with a premium leather makeup with a suede T-toe and a Royal Blue/White colourway as a nod to the previous collaboration.
Moving onto apparel pieces, both brands have revised their pioneering bold classic looks. They remain attentive to the ongoing homage to the Three Stripes archive, playfully integrating the design language of SPZL into the graphic iconography of C.P. Company.
Highlights include two outerwear jackets: the CP SPZL Puffer Jacket and the CP SPZL Flying Jacket. Both looks boast the highest levels of Italian craftsmanship, crafted from flatt nylon, an opaque nylon with a light resin finish on the reverse, and feature detachable branding options. Each jacket features front pockets, embroidered logo patches on the chest, and the iconic C.P. Company lens on the left wrist, specially designed for this collaboration. The Flying Jacket draws inspiration from classic aviation styles, coming in a fleece-lined collar that adds a warming comfort and a respectable nod to vintage flight jackets. Finally, accessories include a side bag, two caps, and a pair of gloves, serving as a perfect complement to these pieces.
Marking the arrival of the collection in truly authentic fashion, the campaign has assembled a cast of the two labels’ long-time confidants. The cinematic tale is based on shared experience, raw talent and genuine friendship, and features figures such as Ashley Walters, Stephen Graham, Goldie, Robert Brooks, and Toby Mclellan. Serving as a perfect blend of documentary and theatrical performance, it weaves a narrative of camaraderie and celebration to properly honour the work of these iconic brands. The film is directed by &SON and photography by heralded music photographer Kevin Cummins.
The latest Adidas SPZL x C.P. Company collection arrives in limited quantities on 12th November and is available through selected retailers.
