Adidas Originals x NTS: Behind the Collaboration


 In an exciting blend of football heritage and underground music culture, adidas Originals and global radio platform NTS have announced a limited-edition collaboration. Launching on June 1st, the collection draws inspiration from archival football kits and includes custom jerseys, shorts, jackets, and the iconic Samba Millennium in two distinct colourways.


Let's delve into the backstory of the brands behind this remarkable collaboration. adidas Originals, a lifestyle brand founded in 2001, has consistently evolved its legacy through product innovation and a commitment to contemporary youth culture. With the adidas archive as its foundation, and marked by the iconic Trefoil logo first used in 1972, adidas Originals continues to lead the way as a pioneering sportswear brand for the street. NTS Radio, started in Hackney in 2011 as a DIY passion project, has grown into a global music platform broadcasting from over sixty cities every month. Known for championing the underground scene and alternative culture, NTS reaches a global audience of 2.5 million monthly listeners, offering a mix of music that isn't available on mainstream platforms like Spotify or Apple Music.




The new collection tells a rich story of football fan culture through the lens of music, featuring a range of football shirts and apparel designed for five key cities: Marseille, Berlin, Barcelona, London, and New York. The standout London jersey is a visual delight, showcasing two shades of pink with the NTS logo and adidas Trefoil proudly displayed at the centre. The Samba Millennium, a beloved classic first released in the early 2000s, makes a triumphant return in fresh light blue and black colourways, adorned with the iconic adidas Originals and NTS logos.


To celebrate this innovative partnership, adidas Originals and NTS will host a pop-up event at a secret location in London on June 1st from 2-5 pm. Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to obtain adidas x NTS jerseys and other collection items for free, all while enjoying a vibrant soundtrack provided by NTS DJs and friends, including Niko B, BXKS, and YT. Event details will be revealed exclusively via @adidaslondon and @NTS on Instagram.




The festivities will continue with an afterparty, bringing together the city's best underground music talent and football fans to watch a major game. Entry to the event is reserved for those lucky enough to snag either the pink or black limited-edition adidas Originals x NTS jerseys.


The adidas Originals x NTS collection will be available for purchase through the CONFIRMED app, at the adidas Originals store on Carnaby Street, and at Size? starting June 1st. This collaboration not only highlights the innovative spirit of both brands but also celebrates the vibrant intersection of sportswear and underground music culture.
