Sound and Culture Returns to Prince of Peckham This June with Hennessy & Dannie Sounds

Backed by the legendary Hennessy and Dankie Sounds led by Clement Ogbonnaya, the visionary behind Prince of Peckham, a much loved summer music series is making its anticipated return. Set across four consecutive Fridays in June, this event puts the spotlight firmly on rising stars in London’s music scene while honouring the vibrancy of Black nightlife. Entry details will be released on 1 May.

This year, the stage is being set by Dankie Sounds, a collective gaining serious attention for their forward thinking approach and dynamic live shows. While the full programme remains under wraps for now, early mentions already promise appearances from acclaimed figures like DJ Melzi from South Africa and homegrown tastemaker Mercedes Benson.

Adding to the excitement, Dankie Sounds will be opening the floor to up and coming talent with a social media competition offering aspiring DJs the opportunity to perform at one of the June events. To throw their hat in the ring, entrants simply need to upload their mixes to Soundcloud with the appropriate tags.

Each Friday evening will be transformed into a sonic celebration, weaving together music, connection and atmosphere. Guests can expect an electrifying soundtrack that drifts between Amapiano, soul, rap and R and B, complemented by a cocktail menu curated in partnership with Hennessy. From the zing of a Hennyrita to a smooth Henny Ginger, every sip will nod to the brand’s storied roots.
