Ojerime - 4U

Ojerime, the born and raised South Londoner has been gracing us with her R&B melodies since the release of her first EP ‘Ojerime: The Silhoutte’ back in 2015. Channeling inner Aaliyah, her smooth 90’s vocal over dusky melancholic beats gives the perfect throwback feeling. The release of her latest project ‘4U’ includes 7 tracks with a dark R&B and mysterious vibe but still carries her 90’s signature tone and layered melodies. This project explores the idea of femininity through, empowerment, loss, passion and sultry lyricism, executing a modernised R&B sound that she calls a ‘sonic experience’.

One track in particular ‘I Know Now (2003)’ fulfils an essence of nostalgia woven over an ambient felt electronic beat, alongside dreamy visuals showcasing the nightscape of London. Ojerime mentioned in a previous interview that ‘I Know Now’ was written back in 2016 about a relationship that had panned out the way she wrote it. Other tracks such as ‘Greasy’ and ‘Handle’ bring an element of seduction and trap to the project. Ojerime is only at the start of her career and we can’t wait for whats to come.
