Hi Shameik, What are your overall thoughts on Fashion Week and what does it entail for you?

Fashion Week is a whirlwind experience. I’m currently in the middle of filming different projects so my team and I made a last minute decision to attend. I received invitations to about seven shows. While there were a few shows I wanted to see but couldn’t, it motivates me for next year. I had the chance to connect with many fascinating individuals, from designers and photographers to stylists and artists across different mediums. This experience has positioned me better for the future.

For me, Fashion Week feels like being on the field—seeing my peers, reconnecting with people I've worked with or want to collaborate with, and meeting those I admire. It’s wonderful to hang out with them in an organic way and get to know each other as we all shine brightly. It's an exciting opportunity to delve deeper into the fashion industry. But Fashion Week is more than just about fashion; it encompasses music, photography, art, and culture. We're all tapping into the broader culture.

What are some of the collections you loved most this time around?

Every brand had something that caught my eye, but I was particularly impressed with the production of KidSuper’s show. I also loved Robert Wun’s Haute Couture FW24 collection. I've always been a fan of Rick Owens and Loewe’s collections as well.

What did you learn style wise from the experience that you would like to explore yourself?

I want to explore shinier elements like embroidery and incorporate more color into my wardrobe. I'm getting more into couture. This week, I wore looks I normally wouldn't choose, but I was able to maintain my identity while experimenting with different styles. It was about taking more risks without losing myself.

As well as the more established houses, it is also a great time for young designers, did you see any pieces from indie designers you liked?

I attended the Bluemarble show, and the brand dressed me for it. I loved the look I had on (see pictured below, Shameik wearing white pants and black jacket from Bluemarble). I also wore a jacket by Christopher Rumpf to A$AP Rocky’s show, and I really liked it.

It's also a great time to show off your personal style, what was your favorite look during your time in Paris?

My favorite looks were the ones I wore to the FWRD x Kendall Jenner cocktail (Comme des Garçons jacket, Simone Rocha shirt, Doublet shoes), A$AP Rocky's show, and the 032c show (Luu Dan head to toe).

Fashion Week brings people around the world together, did you make any new connections? if so who?

I made too many new connections to name, but I had a lot of meaningful reconnections. I reconnected with Pharrell Williams, whom I worked with on the movie "Dope," and French Montana, whom I met during Burna Boy’s show in LA. I've also been seeing A$AP Rocky a lot in New York, so it was great to see his new AWGE collection come to life. I met Guram Gvasalia, the founder of Vêtements, along with many other incredible artists, designers, publicists, and power players.

What brands would you love to walk for if given the opportunity?

Vêtements, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Y-Project, Bluemarble, Luu Dan, and Sacai.
